Shaun rides a Suzuki motorcycle frequently, and also enjoys cycling and swimming...

TBE. Just before nine o’clock, the door opened, and in walked a young woman.  From her understated style — smartly dressed but not in a uniform — she didn’t appear to be a policewoman. She looked across the tables towards Detective Amos, who nodded briefly at her. I saw his head tilt, ever-so-slightly, towards us. No words were exchanged, but she seemed to instinctively know she was to come over to us. She didn't even break her step, turning toward us with a smile.

TSTMH. Midnight to four-thirty isn’t enough sleep for anyone, especially after a full weekend of laughter, discovery, (sexual and relationship,) walking, motorcycling, and sight-seeing. Shaun was up, showered, dressed and ready for work, before I woke up, But when I opened my eyes, I saw he was holding his helmet, about to leave. I smiled at him. “Stay there, Jenna,” he smiled back, "You still have a couple of hours sleep.” “I’m not sure what the day holds for me yet," I said, "but I’ll either come home to you, or go home.” His smile widened and he nodded. “I hope you come here.” he said. “I’ll call you if not.” I said. I waited a few minutes, heard the Suzuki start, and ride away into the distance. I wished I was on the bike too.

TSK. I returned along the canal to my lodgings, behind the church at North Mundham. I was content to be near Mary Magdalene, though I never worshipped her, nor her son. I’d borne witness to places where god hadn’t been visible amongst pain and death. But as I approached the house, she gave me peace now. I heard a slip of gravel off to my right, in the dark, and before I could draw my knife, my head was twisted to the left, my knees buckled, and I was beneath a weight so great, I thought I was to be crushed. Then I saw Slap. His eyes glinted in the moonlight. His five front teeth, spittle covered, smiling. “You’ll never learn, Harby.” he said. “It’ll be the death of me,” I replied.
